Gateway Visitor Center
Come visit the Hawaii Gateway Energy Center and Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority (NELHA), recognized worldwide as a unique and innovative Ocean Science and Technology Park.
FON Ambassadors, who are trained, certified docents, provide public outreach presentations at the Gateway Visitor Center. Each presentation is unique and focused on NELHA, its history, renewable energy and tenant aquaculture/mariculture activities.
For those visitors who cannot attend regular weekly presentations due to scheduling problems, a small outdoor Exhibit Area is maintained by the volunteer staff of the Friends of NELHA (FON). Alternatively, custom presentations can be arranged in advance for your group.
Weekday Presentations
Public Presentations: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from
10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Gateway Visitor Center. Click here for a list of this week's presentations.
The Visitor Center is open from 9 am until 1 pm.
Public Presentation Content: 70 - 90 minutes at the Gateway Visitor Center.

Overview of current Keahole Point research, commercial and educational operations

Innovative products and processes developed using cool, clean, consistent deep sea water

Alternative Fuels & Renewable Energy: included in all tours, but with special emphasis on Tuesdays.
Donation: $8 per person. Seniors & Students $5 per person, children age 8 and under FREE. Cash, money order or traveler's check only.

Private Group Presentations
Private Group Presentations can be arranged by advance request and are designed to meet your group's specific needs and interests.
Cost: $60 minimum or $5 per person. Funds go to Friends of NELHA for education and outreach programs. Group fees can be paid by check or money order. Call (808) 329-8073 for availability or email us at FON@keaholepoint.org
NOTE: For proprietary reasons, FON presentations do not usually include tours of tenant business and research sites.
